Director

Craig Leland Sparks, Program Director of the School of Music, is a talented composer, vocalist, pianist, and conductor. He is the Director of Music at Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church and Artistic Director of the Bowie Senior Chorale. He composes choral music and is currently working on an original musical. His music weaves elements from a variety of cultures and genres of music, illustrating both the unity and diversity in the world that inspires him.

Mr. Sparks holds a B.M. from Towson University and an M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, both in composition. He privately studied voice for 8 years and piano for 15 years.

Mr. Sparks combined his vocal and keyboard talents, performing cocktail music in the Rehoboth Beach, Delaware area. He has performed with the Towson Chamber Choir, the Paul Hill Chorale, Children of the Gospel, and as a soloist for the Towson University Choral Society. In addition, Mr. Sparks has an extensive background in music theatre, performing with the Kennedy Center Theater for Young People as well as community and dinner theater groups.
