Welcome
Boy Scout Troop 119, of Baltimore Area Council, 4 Rivers District, is chartered by Ark and Dove Presbyterian Church in Odenton, Maryland located on Piney Orchard Parkway. A relatively new troop, Troop 119 celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2010. There are presently about ten active Scouts in Troop 119. We meet at the Church on most Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.Troop 119 has a year round program of outings and instruction. Every month there is an overnight campout planned, and we also have outings like rafting, orienteering, skiing, bicycling, and hiking. This rigorous outdoor program helps to keep all the scouts active and interested in scouting, plus provides the scouts with a opportunity for fun, new skills and advancement. The troop is divided into patrols of 4-6 scouts. The senior scouts, led by the Senior Patrol Leader, are the experienced, older and trained Scouts of the troop, and the patrols are led by a Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader. Together they plan and execute the troop's program. At troop meetings, we practice our skills, have inter-patrol activities and games, work on advancement, and plan for the current month's campout and other activities. Once a month the Scoutmaster and the boy leaders have a meeting of the Patrol Leader's Council to plan for the upcoming activities. Troop 119 strives to be a scout-run troop, supported by several adult scouters' and parent participation. |
