Tim Stern serves Ark and Dove with energy, imagination, intelligence
and love. Tim's been a part of Ark and Dove even before we
were a church or had a name. Almost 15 years ago, Tim was
chosen to lead a new church being formed in West Anne Arundel
County-then called the Presbyterian Church in Odenton. Tim
had the leadership skills and the faith needed to start a
new church-Tim's not afraid of risks, he's a motivator, a
great preacher, and is enthusiastic about faith and helping
others grow spiritually. These same qualities have helped
Tim guide our congregation through our chartering, the construction
of our church home and the creation and expansion of Christian
education and fellowship programs and diverse mission projects
over the past 10 years.
While
Tim is serious about faith, he leads our church with humor,
tolerance and open-mindedness. He cringes at the words "we've
never done it that way before" and prefers "well,
let's talk about it" or "let's give it a try."
He's committed to welcoming new visitors warmly and making
everyone feel comfortable about coming to church-whether they've
been regular churchgoers or have never set foot before in
a sanctuary.
A graduate of Union Seminary in New York, Tim was associate
pastor at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church in Severna Park,
Maryland from 1985 to 1991. At Woods he worked in youth ministry,
mission and pastoral care. He feels his most important accomplishment
at Woods was to begin four annual mission trips for high school
youth, middle school youth, college students and adults.
Tim
is married to Kelly O'Hanlon Stern and has a son Jim, a daughter
Sarah and a step-daughter Chelsea. He loves being a husband
and dad and is a passionate gardener. He also likes hiking,
swimming and bird watching. |

Corinne is a hands-on pastor who believes that education
is at its best when children and adults feel valued and are
encouraged to explore ways that help them grow in their faith.
She thinks that we are always in relationship with God, even
when we don’t know it.
“Children are creative and eager explorers of life
and are our best teachers because they are so often uninhibited
and find trying something different or new to be second nature,”
she has been heard to say. Corinne is likely to be found involved
in trying-out an idea she found online, in a journal or heard
from a colleague. Sharing with learners an “aha”
moment when an experience or thought reveals the wonder of
God or the love of Christ in a new way is one of the best
parts of being a minister. She encourages children of all
ages to be involved in helping others and finds that they
relate especially well to the needs of other children.
Gardening and caring for the environment are very important
to Corinne who grew up on a dairy and grain farm in central
Illinois where she learned first hand the importance of protecting
the natural resources God has given us for the good of all
people around the world.
Corinne was a public school teacher in Pasadena, California
and St. Louis before graduating from Eden Seminary there in
1984. She continues to specialize in Interim Ministry, and
has served congregations with particular needs in the transition
time between installed pastorates in several states. Ark and
Dove is the 11th congregation she has served as an interim
pastor.
She has lived in Severna Park since 1986 and, with her late
husband Wesley who was also an interim pastor, has enjoyed
living and serving churches in the Midwest and the South.
Movies, music and being involved in outdoor projects are things
she likes to do but her greatest thrill is spending time with
their blended family: three adult children and 15 grandchildren.
The closest is daughter Debbie and Mark with their children
Kayla Corinne, Kevin and Karson live in Westminster. Corinne’s
two sons and spouses live in St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri
and her 94 yr. old mother still lives independently on the
Illinois farm.
